Seriously! Why does everything need an app?! I have very few apps on my phone - and would have even fewer of the web browsers just gave me certain abilities like "keep this tab running even if I close the browser/window". I hate a plethora of apps on my phone. Make a good, responsive web portal and drive all your traffic there!
Works for GMail and hundreds of other sites including FB.
When it needs an update - update the code in the website. Done.
Apps are stupid - a waste of processing, bandwidth, and another vector for app creators to spy on you and take more control of your device.
